Umoja SynFX — on-chain exchange, also known as a decentralized exchange (DEX), is a type of digital trading platform that runs on a blockchain. It lets people exchange cryptocurrencies and digital assets directly on the blockchain, without using a middleman like a regular exchange. These on-chain exchanges are linked to blockchain technology, digital currencies, and the wider world of decentralized finance (DeFi)

Making On-Chain Trading Feel Easy

The main challenge was turning a technically complex DeFi product into a clear and trustworthy experience. Umoja SynFX needed to support advanced blockchain features like on-chain swaps and real-time asset data, but without overwhelming users. The interface had to feel intuitive for newcomers while offering enough control for experienced traders. This required thoughtful UX decisions — simplifying flows and clearly communicating transaction steps, so users could confidently interact with a high-stakes financial tool.

Designing Simplicity Into Liquidity Provision

To make liquidity provision clear and user-friendly, i designed an interface that organizes complex financial data into a clean, intuitive layout. Users can easily view their pools with key details like asset pairs, price ranges, and status indicators such as “In range,” helping them stay informed at a glance. Actions like “Add Liquidity” are clearly highlighted for quick access. The overall design builds confidence, and lowers the entry barrier for users interacting with DeFi tools.

Effortless Liquidity Management with Visual Clarity

To help users manage their liquidity positions with clarity and confidence, I designed a focused dashboard that highlights the most important metrics at a glance—total liquidity value, asset breakdown, unclaimed fees, and real-time price range status. Actions like “Increase liquidity”, “Remove liquidity” and “Collect fees” are placed contextually for quick access, encouraging user engagement. By visually separating key data blocks and using color-coded asset indicators, the interface guides the user through complex on-chain information in a way that feels straightforward and actionable.

Analyzing Core Platform Mechanics

Instead of conducting user research, the process began with a deep analysis of the technical and functional documentation provided by the client. The goal was to fully understand the platform’s logic, transaction flows, and key features such as liquidity pools, token swaps, and wallet integration.
